Stay steady on your feet, and stay in your own home.
We help adults 55 and over in Southern River build strength and balance for daily life. If getting off the floor, carrying the shopping or walking as far as you used to has become harder, we can help.
No referral needed. Your assessment takes approximately one hour.
You will recognise yourself here
- You have had a fall, or a near miss that you have not told anyone about.
- You have been handed a new diagnosis and told, without much more detail, to exercise more.
- Stairs, the shopping, or getting up off the floor take more out of you than they used to.
- You want to keep doing what you do now, for as long as possible, in your own home.

Frame member · More confident and planning a trip
She fell at home and it took her half an hour to get up. Her doctor sent her to Frame Physiology. She started one on one with Naser, she moves better now, her bone scan came back stronger, and her big trip is booked.
I went to my doctor because I had a fall in my house and it took me half an hour to get up, and it really worried me. I went and saw my doctor and she said I am going to refer you to a physiologist. I came to Naser and at that time I was walking with a bad limp and I had used a walking stick, and I have had both my knees and a hip replaced. I broke my hip in a fall. My biggest fear throughout the whole thing has been falling. I started with Naser one on one in November 2024. I had goals that I needed to do. I needed to improve my mobility and moving around. I now find I am much more confident with what I am doing and how I am going. I have just had a bone density scan and my bone density has improved to the point where my doctor is really pleased with how it has gone. It worked. It has taken a while and I have had to really work at it, but what I am doing does work, and for me that means a lot. Yesterday I went to a committee meeting for a club I am with and I mentioned to my friend that my bone density had come in and my improvement was fantastic. She struggles to walk too and she has a lot of problems with her mobility, and she looked at me and said really, who do you go with. I said Frame Physiology. She looked it up on her phone. I am really hoping she will come and have a look, and she was very keen when I said I had improved so much. I have booked a trip to Antarctica, which has been number one on my bucket list, and I am a little apprehensive but I am really looking forward to it. I am 78 years of age. I will be 79 when I do the Antarctica trip. I have gone for 15 days, which will be great. Next year I hope to do a lot more in Australia. I am booked to go on a six day tour of the Murray River.

Frame member · Torn leg muscles, one horse waiting
A fall last year tore the muscles in her leg and she could hardly walk. She found the assessment online and started the classes. She lifts weights now, walks better, and her horse is waiting in the paddock.
I had an accident about twelve months ago where I fell on my side and ripped all my glutes and my quads. I also have a very severe scoliosis with a twist at the bottom, so I was already struggling a bit, but that made it worse. I could hardly walk. I went to the doctors and finally got to a physio who was giving me exercises. He was really good, but I was not doing them at home. I was not getting time and I did not feel confident. I started looking around to see if there were any classes I could go to, and luckily I found this one online. I thought I would go and do the assessment and see what I think. Naser and Karen were really good. They made the assessment very easy to do. I was a bit worried because I knew I was not going to be as strong or steady as I should be, but they talked me all the way through it, so that was great. Then I thought I will start the classes and see how I go. Since I started the program I have become more aware of what my body is doing. I already had issues, but I am more aware of my balance and my strength. I knew I was not very strong, and after my fall I was a bit worried about my balance. My balance has started to improve because I am aware of what my body is actually doing. I can do weights and things I never thought I could do. It is helping build up the muscles in my legs which were damaged, and I think with my spine it is helping those muscles become stronger too. Every day I feel a bit more confident and I can walk a lot better. I can hop up and down on things. The reason I want to get stronger and steadier, besides the normal things like the shopping and jobs around the house, is that just before the accident I had bought a new horse after my previous horse died. I had only ridden him once and then I could not move, could not walk, could not do anything. So it has been twelve months and my horse has been sitting in the paddock with my donkey, and my goal is to be able to get back on and ride. I could not lift a saddle. I could not get up on the horse. I am getting to the stage now where that soon will become a possibility, which will make me really happy. I would tell my friends the same age as me, or younger or older, to come and do the assessment, because even if you only do that, at least then you have an idea of where your body is and what needs building up. But I am pretty sure that, as I did, once you come and do the assessment and see what is going on around here, you keep going, because it is so much easier to do it with other people and have the physiologist here guiding you, helping you to move up, or if something is too hard, move down. So I would say just do it, because at home it is very hard to do the exercises on your own. You forget to do them, you get too busy. Here it is a commitment, and it is fun, and everybody is really nice.

Frame member · Two breaks in one year
She broke her kneecap, then broke her foot while it healed. Her left leg was weak and she tripped a lot. Under eight weeks in, her balance is better and she feels steadier on her feet.
I joined here because last year I broke my kneecap, and while I was recovering from that I broke my foot. My whole left leg was quite weak. I stumbled a lot and I would trip a lot. I want to stay strong enough to play with my grandchildren and get up off the floor without looking ridiculous, and I travel a lot as well. I found this to be the best fit for me. Since starting the program here my confidence has increased a lot, because my balance is a lot better. I am a lot more steady and a lot stronger already, and I have not even been here eight weeks. I am really looking forward to my next assessment to see how well I am doing. I have already been recommending it to people my age, especially if they have had some physical problems. It is just the best. It is all tailored to your individual needs. We work as a group, but individually on our own strengths. It is much better than a normal gym. You do not just jump in and have to catch up with everybody. It is tailored for you.

Who we are
Being told to exercise is not a plan, so we give you one, and we coach it. A diagnosis changes the plan. It should not become the whole story.
We measure what you can do now, coach the parts that matter most to daily life, then measure again so you can see what changed.
Why it matters now
Strength and balance fade quietly. Most people only notice after the fall, when the plan has to be built around an injury instead of ahead of one.
